Covid Precautions

Covid Precautions

Burning Coal’s first priority is the safety of our community. Our requirements are designed to help protect audiences, staff, artists, and volunteers, while continuing to present the live, visceral experiences you expect. We will review this policy show-by-show to adhere to the advice of City, County, or State officials and the CDC’s recommendations, whichever has the greater safety precautions required.

100 percent of Burning Coal staff and artists are vaccinated.

Please check back frequently or sign up for our weekly e-blasts for updates on all things Burning Coal.

Indoor events: Beginning with our June, 2022 theatre performances BCT will require audience members to wear a high-quality mask (3-ply surgical, KN95, N95) in lieu of checking vaccination status, and we will offer 3-ply surgical or KN95 masks to audience members as needed.

Outdoor events: Face masks are recommended. We are no longer checking proof of vaccination.

These precautions are in line with industry guidelines and government regulations, and have been approved by Burning Coal’s Board of Directors.

Thank you for your support throughout these tough times – we will come through it together and hope you will join us however you can.

Our Indoor Events Safety Plan:

The following precautions have been put in place for all indoor events until further notice:

FACE MASKS

A high-quality mask (3-ply surgical, KN95, N95) are required for staff and guests until further notice. (Actors, however, will not wear masks.) Masks will be provided for those who forget them. Cloth masks will not be accepted. No one will be admitted without a mask.

HAND SANITIZING

Hand sanitizer is located throughout the building. We strongly recommend using hand sanitizer and/or washing your hands frequently during your visit.

ENCOURAGING SOCIALLY DISTANCED SEATING

Seating is general admission, but parties are encouraged to keep at least one seat open between groups whenever possible. We are now up to 100% capacity, so this option may not be available for all performances. If you have concerns about audience capacity, call us at (919) 834-4001 or email development@burningcoal.org and we will aim to help you find a less crowded date.

If someone in your party requires wheelchair or accessible seating, please let us know in advance if possible by emailing development@burningcoal.org.
