Burning Coal’s first priority is the safety of our community. Our requirements are designed to help protect audiences, staff, artists, and volunteers, while continuing to present the live, visceral experiences you expect. We will review this policy show-by-show to adhere to the advice of City, County, or State officials and the CDC’s recommendations, whichever has the greater safety precautions required.

The Burning Coal Board of Directors voted on the following COVID precautions beginning with our April 2023 performances:

Indoor events: Beginning with our April 2023 theatre performances, the wearing of face masks will be optional.  High-quality masks (3-ply surgical, KN95, N95) will be provided to any audience member that wishes to wear one.

If you have any concerns about attending indoors in a mask-optional environment, please email development@burningcoal.org and we will discuss additional options including attending a preview night or reserved balcony seating (which offers increased social distancing). Requests must be made by 1 week before opening night for the production.

Outdoor events: Face masks are recommended.  We are no longer checking proof of vaccination.

We will review this policy show-by-show to adhere to the advice of City, County, or State officials and the CDC’s recommendations, whichever has the greater safety precautions required.

100 percent of Burning Coal staff and artists are vaccinated.

Please check back frequently or sign up for our weekly e-blasts for updates on all things Burning Coal.

These precautions are in line with industry guidelines and government regulations, and have been approved by Burning Coal’s Board of Directors.

Thank you for your support throughout these tough times – we will come through it together and hope you will join us however you can.
