Way to Heaven

Written by Juan Mayorga

Directed by Matthew Earnest

In 1941, the Nazis built a ‘model town’ outside Berlin.  They peopled it with Jewish prisoners of war, then invited the Red Cross and other outside authorities to come in and have a look.  Remarkably, the Red Cross and others accepted this ruse.  In Juan Mayorga’s beautifully poetic work, we follow the young man sent to observe this model town as he confronts the town’s citizens, the town’s mayor, the Nazi Commandant and, finally, himself.
