Emily Ranii


DIRECTOR

For Burning Coal: Brigadoon, Much Ado About Nothing, The Love Song of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Emily teaches for Boston University CFA School of Theatre and School of Music Opera Institute and is the Academic Program Head of the Boston University Summer Theatre Institute (BUSTI).  She will direct Tongue of a Bird for New Repertory Theatre Srping 2014.  Emily served as Artistic Director of ArtsCenter Stage in Carrboro, North Carolina from 2008-2010, where she directed Eurydice, A Child’s Christmas in Wales, and 10 By 10.  Emily has directed 9 Parts of Desire for Playmakers Repertory Company PRC2, The Body Project for Cornell University (Alumni Guest Director), and Proof for Temple Theatre. She has studied with theatre artists at The Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center’s LCT3, Huntington Theatre Company, A.R.T. Institute, and The Actors’ Gang. Emily holds a B.A. from Cornell University (Theatre Arts and English) as well as an M.F.A. (Directing) and Certificate (Arts Administration) from Boston University.
